George Dinwiddie on cultural change

One of the really cool things about attending software and QA conferences is having the opportunity to sit face to face with many of the authors and industry leaders who I’ve read about or interviewed in the past. George Dinwiddie is one of those people.

Dinwiddie was part of a team that led a two-day Agile testing workshop here at the Agile Development Practices West conference, and he is also the subject of a two-part interview I did recently about Agile testing:

When George and I talked at the conference, I asked him what he recommended for dealing with cultural change. Figure out what people value and what they are afraid of losing when a change happens, says Dinwiddie. He reminds us that cultural change doesn’t happen immediately. “Change happens one person at a time.”
