Jeff Williams, founder and CEO, Aspect Security
Jeff Williams is the founder and CEO of Aspect Security, a provider of application security services. He is an acknowledged expert on application security and is responsible for the security of many critical applications. Jeff has been focused on information security since 1989 and has published numerous papers focusing on practical risk and assurance techniques. Jeff chaired the group responsible for authoring ISO 21827, the Systems Security Engineering Capability Maturity Model (SSE-CMM).
Jeff is also the chairman of the non-profit OWASP Foundation (Open Web Application Security Project). With dozens of projects and over 60 chapters around the world, OWASP's mission is to find and fight the causes of insecure applications. Jeff is the primary author of the OWASP Top Ten Web vulnerabilities and the OWASP Secure Software Development Contract Annex, and he leads several OWASP projects.
Jeff has held senior security positions with Exodus Communications, Arca Systems, and TRW. He has undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Computer Science from the University of Virginia, an MA in Human Factors Engineering from George Mason University, and a JD cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he specialized in intellectual property and cyberlaw. |
