Web application security vendor SPI Dynamics has released a new version of its Web security testing tool, WebInspect 7.5. This latest version contains features to aid users during security audits.

7.5 includes a scan profiler that helps configure settings for the security scan. A traffic monitor is also included, allowing users to monitor HTTP traffic in real time during the scan.

What to look for in a Web application security testing tool

The scanning tool is tailored for Web 2.0 technologies such as Web services, SOA and Ajax. In that vein, SPI Dynamics has updated their Ajax support for WebInspect 7.5. Support for Windows Vista is also available.
