Blueprint this week announced the availability of Blueprint Requirements Center 2008, the industry's first platform to deliver enterprisewide requirements definition and visualization.

The release of Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 offers the first platform for enterprisewide Requirements Lifecycle Acceleration, by enabling teams of users to seamlessly collaborate on business requirements. Geographically separated teams can now simultaneously define requirements assets, perform highly visual requirements simulations, and blueprint accurate assets directly into application lifecycle management (ALM) solutions.

"What we've done is empowered the world of collaboration," said Matthew Morgan, chief marketing officer at Blueprint. "Blueprint is dedicated to bridging the communication gap between customers, business and IT by improving the process of defining an application through Requirements Lifecycle Acceleration."

Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 provides the following:

  • Blueprint Definition Server: The new Blueprint Definition Server provides a robust central repository for any Blueprint Requirements Center user. All users can access files in one location, and the Blueprint Definition Server adds version control, configuration management and baseline publishing to ensure the alignment of teams.
  • Blueprint Change Management: The new Blueprint Change Management module enables teams of users to consolidate work-threads into a single baseline. Project managers can now apply rigor and control to the requirements process by accepting or declining changes to application definition blueprints.
  • Enhanced integration with ALM solutions: Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 adds integration with HP Quality Center 9.2 for requirements management and test case generation, and it provides the ability to generate blueprints directly into Microsoft Visio.
  • Improved user experience: Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 offers enhanced flexibility for opening and leveraging multiple requirements definition models simultaneously, a new graphical editor for ease of use in building complex use case models, and an easy-to-use set of utilities to explore requirements projects stored in the Blueprint Definition Server.

Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 is a role-based suite, with a set of solutions purposely built for key strategic touch points within the application lifecycle. Editions of Requirements Center 2008 include a suite designed for the business analyst, the application developer, and the quality assurance tester.

Existing Blueprint customers leveraging previous versions of Blueprint Requirements Center qualify for an upgrade to Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 as part of their maintenance agreement. Blueprint Requirements Center Analyst, Developer and Tester are all available immediately.
