About Software Maintenance Process
Software maintenance in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) includes all the tasks and activities that must take place after deployment of a software application to production. This would include release management and defect tracking processes, standards and tools as well as documentation and reporting that is done after deployment. Once software is released to production, maintenance activities must take place to carefully track defects, changes to the environment, enhancement requests, and other activities that are critical for smooth operations.
