While talking to customers about software requirements, many times an analyst will come across a situation where the concerned personnel will drag the requirements to some unwanted conditions. That is because they have little knowledge about possible implementations or have some bias about the possible system. Analysts have to identify the requirements and derive the needs of the software and clearly define the distinction between the wishes and needs of the system.
